Leather artisan working at a Cuiravo partner workshop in Kanpur, India

From Texas to Kanpur

How Our Bags Are Made

Based and operated in Texas, Cuiravo develops and selects each style with artisan production partners in Kanpur, India. Skilled craftspeople cut, stitch, assemble, finish, and personalize eligible pieces. Materials and construction are disclosed by product, and each order is checked against Cuiravo requirements before dispatch.

Craftsmanship, explained clearly

For Cuiravo, handcrafted means that skilled people perform the key construction steps using hand-guided tools and workshop equipment. It does not mean every stitch is sewn entirely by hand. Our goal is to show you who makes our products, where the work happens, and what is checked before an order leaves the workshop.

Inside the workshop

From material selection to final inspection

The exact construction varies by product. The stages below show the typical path followed by many Cuiravo bags. Product-specific materials and features are listed on each product page.

Selecting and preparing materials 01

Material preparation

Selecting and preparing materials

The workshop reviews the material required for the specific style, then prepares the leather, suede, canvas, lining, and reinforcement components used in that design.

Confirm the exact leather or material on the product page.

Cutting each component 02

Pattern and cutting

Cutting each component

Patterns guide the cutting of exterior panels, straps, pockets, reinforcements, and lining pieces. The craftsperson positions components according to the material and the product specification.

Stitching and shaping the bag 03

Assembly

Stitching and shaping the bag

Panels are aligned, stitched with workshop sewing equipment, and shaped into the finished structure. Stress points may be reinforced according to the design.

Avoid claiming hand stitching unless the shown product is actually hand stitched.

Fitting zippers and hardware 04

Hardware

Fitting zippers and hardware

Zippers, buckles, clasps, feet, handles, and adjustable strap components are fitted according to the product design and checked for basic operation.

Identify hardware materials only when confirmed by the supplier.

Adding approved personalization 05

Personalization

Adding approved personalization

For eligible products, the workshop follows the customer’s submitted text, method, color, and placement instructions using the personalization options available for that style.

Show embroidery and engraving separately when the methods differ.

Inspecting before dispatch 06

Final review

Inspecting before dispatch

The completed item is reviewed against the order details, visible construction, hardware operation, finish, and personalization information before it is packed for dispatch.

Publish only checkpoints that are consistently documented.

Materials with context

The right material for each design

Cuiravo products are not all made from one leather type. Depending on the design, a product may use full-grain leather, waxed leather, suede, canvas, lining materials, or a combination. We identify the main materials on each product page so customers can make an informed choice.

Natural variation: Leather grain, tone, and markings can differ slightly from piece to piece. These variations are normal characteristics of the material, not evidence that every product uses the same leather grade.
